QB Issue Resolution:

Running a Donor Contribution Summary Report does not display the check number entered on a sales receipt.

Important: This report is only available in the following Versions of QuickBooks:

QuickBooks Premier Nonprofit

QuickBooks Accountant

Detailed Instructions

Add the P.O.# column to the Donor Contribution Summary report:

From the Reports menu, choose:
QuickBooks Premier Nonprofit Edition: Nonprofit > Donor Contribution Summary.
QuickBooks Accountant Edition: Industry Specific > Nonprofit > Donor Contribution Summary
In the top left corner of the report window, click the Modify Report button.
Click the Display tab.
In the Columns list, click to select P.O. #.

Your check number will now display on the report under the P.O.# column.

The P.O. # column can not be edited so that it reads Check #. This can only be modified by exporting the report to Microsoft Excel and changing the P.O. # column to Check #.

Click on down arrow next to Excel (at the top of the report) .
Click on Create New Worksheet.
Click Export.
Change the column labeled P.O. # to Check #.
Save the Excel document to your computer.

Additional Option:

Go to the Customer Center.
Double Click one of the customers. This will bring up the Edit Customer screen.
Go to the Additional Info Tab.
Click on Define Fields button.
Type in the Label column Check #.
Click OK.
Click OK.
Open a Sales Receipt.
Click on Customize.
Click Customize Data Layout.
Checkmark the boxes under Screen and Print.
Click OK.
Create a Sales Receipt.
From the Reports menu, choose:
QuickBooks Premier Nonprofit Edition: Nonprofit > Donor Contribution Summary.
QuickBooks Accountant Edition: Industry Specific > Nonprofit > Donor Contribution Summary.
Click Customize Report
Click the Display tab.
In the Columns list, click and select the option Check #. (This will be the item that was created in the customer center).
Click OK.
