QB Issue Resolution:
item costs do not show in a/r, would you edit your post and attach a screen shot of what you are looking at?
If an inventory item sells and does not post to COGS, first edit the item and insure COGS is selected as the expense account. Also look at the very bottom of the item, it says average cost = $$, a zero means it has not been recorded as a purchase in QB
then run a quick report (right click on the item and select QR) for that item, and look for a purchase, drill down on the purchase, if you are reporting on cash basis, a purchase is not costed until that purchase is paid. If you used a bill to enter the purchase, the bill has to be paid in cash basis reporting.
No purchase = no COGS
An aging report for a/r, only shows open invoices and the number of days it is unpaid
