QB Issue Resolution:
“However the amount does not show in Payroll Liabilities to pay.”
If you use Create Custom Liability Payments, you will see it there. The Payroll Center listing is a Helper function. If you never “scheduled” that payroll item, you never told QB when it needs to be paid and to help keep you on track with Visibility.
So, you need to use Schedule Liability Payments. Edit Payment Method/Due Dates. It’s part of Payroll Setup Wizard, too; it is a step in that outline, so it launches this little pop up tool. “Schedule” this Liability.
In my attachment, top right is the yellow Warning with the link to Schedule a tax payment and at the bottom are the icons for Manage Payment methods, Change Payment Method, and Create Custom Payment.
You are a 941 Monthly payer, but also do not need to send it in until it reaches $2,500 or by the Quarter End. If you schedule it Monthly, but try to make the Quarterly Payment, you get 3 checks. You use Create Custom to pull the entire quarter date range for Liability Period into One check to pay 941.
