The error message you’ve encountered occurs if the tax feature is turned on. Since we can’t disable the tax feature once set up, here’s what we can do as a workaround:

  1. On your Dashboard, click on the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab on the left.
  4. On the Accounting part, click the Default tax rate selection.
  5. Toggle the drop-down menu and select Out of Scope of Tax.
  6. Click Save once done.

This way, the tax rates will automatically post as Out of Scope when you create your quotes and other transactions.
