QB Issue Resolution:
QuickBooks Mac can import Quicken Mac files… up to a point. Your Quicken file has more items than QuickBooks can handle. I believe the limit is around 14,000.
QuickBooks is very specific about what an item is – it has other fields associated with it (like which ledger accounts it hits and so on). Its really designed for business.
Quicken creates new items liberally – particularly if you have been downloading bank transactions for years. In Quicken its anything that appears on that bank download and no other info is needed. When the Quicken data is mapped to QuickBooks it can’t consolidate them to fit within the constraint on quantity of items.
Sorry – it is not going to be able to import your file. You may want to get a refund on the copy of QuickBooks. In general the migration of Quicken data to QuickBooks is not what I personally recommend. Much of the Quicken data is not specified enough to make a lot of sense in QuickBooks from a business perspective.
