QB Issue Resolution:

One of your current backup settings is probably set incorrectly and is preventing backups of larger sets of data.

This error can also indicate that one or more files in your compressed data set is larger than 1.25 GB, indicating that you have a very large amount of uncompressible data.

This issue can also be caused by an incorrectly set registry key.
How to fix it

Intuit recommends 3 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all 3 to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Run the online backup refresh tool

Access the Online Backup Refresh Tool.
In the File Download screen, select Run. The Online Backup engine will download the necessary files to complete your installation. After you complete these steps, the file should back up successfully.
Repeat these steps on all computers that have the Online Backup software installed.

If the issue persists, try solution 2.

Solution 2: Run a batch file to edit the problem registry key

Download the batch file corresponding to the Online Backup plan you are subscribed to:
25 GB
50 GB
75 GB
Press Enter when the process is complete.

If the issue persists, continue to solution 3.

Solution 3: Manually back up your files in batches

Note: We suggest that you back up no more than 3 GB of your total backup set during each step in this process. For example, if you are backing up 15 GB, then you would select 3 GB at a time and repeat that 5 times to back up all 15 GB.

Manually select a small number of files to back up, then run a manual backup.
Manually select additional files to back up, then run the manual backup again.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have backed up all the required files.
