QB Issue Resolution:

QuickBooks Desktop versions 2009 and newer contain a feature designed to help businesses utilizing multiple currencies. If you have turned this feature on you will not be able to convert your data to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Once turned on the multicurrency feature cannot be turned off.

Note: Please keep in mind QBO does not have the multicurrency feature. If this is something you need QBO may not suit your needs.

Before you turned on the multicurrency feature you would have received the following message:

You’re about to turn on multiple currencies.
Important:
*If you haven’t backed up recently, we recommend that you click No below and back up your file before turning this feature on.
*Once selected, this preference cannot be changed.
Are you ready to turn on multicurrency in this file?

If you performed the back up prior to continuing then you do have one option for converting. You can revert to the backup and will be able to proceed with the conversion to QBO.

NOTE: Any data entered after the backup will be lost. We recommend you run the Transaction List by Date report in QuickBooks Desktop and customize the dates to include all dates between the back up and today. The report is located in the Accountant and Taxes section. Any data listed on the Transaction List by Date report will have to be manually entered again once you have reverted to the backup.

If you are not successful in reverting to the backup or if you do not have a backup you will continue to see the following error message:

QuickBooks Mac and QuickBooks Online do not support the multicurrency feature. This company file is using the multicurrency feature and cannot be converted.

If you need to convert, use a backup that was made before you enabled multicurrency. If you do not have a backup, start a new company file in your QuickBooks Mac or Online Edition.

If you do not have a backup prior to turning on the multicurrency feature you will have to start over from scratch in QBO and enter everything manually.
