QB Issue Resolution:

How can I change the date range the Profit and Loss (PP) Comparison report uses to compare by?
Answer ID: 3113

When the Profit and Loss report is customized for the Prior Period (PP) Comparison, it will automatically adjust for the correct amount of days. Should the month selected for the Transaction Date range have more or fewer amount of days than the prior month that the comparison is using, the date range of the report will adjust accordingly. For accounting purposes, the program adjusts to ensure you are comparing the same amount of day’s of income and expenses.

For example if you run a P&L (PP) report for the month of February and February has 28 days, then the prior period being January will run from 01/04 – 01/31 covering 28 days.

If you would like a comparison for the two months and not for the specific amount of days you can do so by clicking on the Customize… button and selecting Months from the Columns: field and running the report.

Another option would be to run the Profit and Loss for each month, export to Excel… and combine the two reports under one Excel file.
