You’re correct that something will need to be recorded in QuickBooks before you can find a match for your transaction. The tool uses smart searching to match downloaded transactions to transactions in QuickBooks. This makes reconciliation much easier and will save you tons of time. If your bank transfer is appearing in both your Chequing account and Savings account feeds, whichever one doesn’t apply can be moved to the Excluded section to remove it from the bank feed. Just check the box next to the transaction, click Batch Actions > Exclude Selected.
