QB Issue Resolution:
If all your accountant does is look at your books then you can just save a backup for their system (usually Windows). If your accountant makes General Journal entries then, as long as they are using QuickBooks Accountant edition, they can send you the General Journal entries as a separate small file that you can import.
Otherwise, if the accountant is making larger changes, you send them the Windows version of the file. The problem is that only one of you can make changes – when your accountant send the file back to you it will become your new file and any changes you made to your copy while the accountant had it will be lost.
