QB Issue Resolution:

You can use either the Price Levels or Price Rules so you can markup an item with different prices.

If you’re using an earlier version of Enterprise, you can create a price level. Once it is assigned to a customer type, the program can perform the following:

  • Change the price of all items sold to a customer.
  • Define specific item prices to charge a customer.

To create a Price Level:

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top.
  2. Select Price Level List.
  3. Click the Price Level drop-down at the bottom, then choose New.
  4. Type in a name on the Price Level Name field.
  5. Select the Price Level Type.
  6. Choose the item and make any necessary changes.
  7. Select Adjust.
  8. Click OK.

If you’re using an Enterprise version 14.0 and later, you can create a price rule. This allows you to set conditions for when the program changes an item price. For the detailed steps on how to create a price rule, you can go through this article: Use Advanced Pricing.

Once done, you can add a markup on an item by performing the steps below:

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top.
  2. Select Item List.
  3. Double-click on the item you want to markup.
  4. Click Edit Markup.
  5. Select the Type of Markup.
  6. Type in the Cost, Sales Price, Markup Percent and Margin details.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Choose OK again to close the screen.
