QB Issue Resolution:
A custom field added on transactions can be added on reports as a filter or an additional column. This is for the reason that it is not a default field that can let QB generate a standard report.
If you wish not to add it every time you need to run a report, you may just memorized your report filters instead. Memorizing a report allows QB to generate the same kind of report that automatically updates information based on its specified date. You may memorize the report by hitting the Memorize button on top of the report.
