QB Issue Resolution:

necessity is determined by the user and the IRS or state government in the event of an audit

We back up all of your data on the Intuit servers so it’s not really necessary for you to create backups.

that canned statement y’all repeat from Intuit is completely misleading

Intuit backs the servers up, but can not restore your file from that back up

the make local copy provides you with a copy that does not contain all financial information, and can not be used locally, nor can it be used to upload to the old or a new QBO file

the export to desktop provides you with a file that must be opened in desktop within 10 days, and the file has known problems, some things do not export, inventory exports as service items with no history, these known problems have existed for over 5 years

QBO does not have a back up at all from the user perspective.
