I assume you have closed last year and don’t want to upset any of those balances – so then:
Enter a dummy deposit for the same amount, and code it to the same accounts that were used on the original cheque.
Next time you do a bank reconciliation clear both the old cheque and the new deposit entry.
Leave notes in both items to remind yourself what happened.
