How is the location assigned to a payment?
Answer ID: 1345

Since there isn’t a location field on the Receive Payment screen, the location is set by the invoice to which the payment is applied.

If the payment is applied to multiple invoices that have different locations, the location of the payment will be unspecified.

Note: If the location is assigned to the invoice after the payment has been received, the payment will show Not Specified for the location.

If there are billable expenses added to the invoice that do not have a location applied or have a different location, the payment will not show a location.
