QB Issue Resolution:
If the name is not the same, that is the issue. A Payment processed at the Customer Level is never available to the Job, and vice versa. It also is not available across Jobs.
Run that AR Aging report. Look at Who has the credit and Who needs it, as if these are not the same person.
Create an Other Charge Type item and link it to Liability. Use it on an invoice for the Customer:Job having the credit. Apply that overpayment. Use it on a Credit Memo for the Customer:Job needing the credit; apply to open invoices.
Now the Liability is 0, so reconcile that account to 0 for clearing those two activities.
