QB Issue Resolution:

First, Multi-user is not the same as Remote. Multi-user is simultaneous access to a shared data file but each computer is running QB locally.

Second, I always recommend installing QB and QBDBMgr on the server. Launch QB on the server and get updates, routinely. Use it to open the data file(s) and set it to Host. Keep the database mgr service running all the time but close QB on the server and don’t use it there, otherwise.

If the first computer to open a data file creates the Hosting, this error condition is “floating host.”
