QB Issue Resolution:

Start out with a Bank account named for Cash On Hand. This cash had to come from somewhere. That is managed as a Bank account. Now you have a Bank account and you use this for tracking the spending and the deposit (keeping on hand) of Cash, and the movement of Cash.

You will use the Check screen for data input of what was purchased; there is no paper check but this is the data entry tool.
