QB Issue Resolution:

There should be a little up/down arrow next to the tax and discount boxes on the invoice. Move the discount above the tax box and you should be good. As far as the discount being applied automatically, there doesn’t seem to be a way to do it with essentials or simple start, which is what I have. I have tried setting a new payment term and selecting a check box to add the % and days, but it doesn’t do it when I receive a payment. I would need to record a journal entry every time to show discounts taken or possibly a debit memo in some cases. I hope someone has a solution but you might need to upgrade if you want better books.
