QB Issue Resolution:

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us.

You’ll need to create an estimate first before the invoice. In your case, since you already created an invoice, I suggest deleting the invoice and creating an estimate so you can link it to the Invoice afterward.

Here’s how to delete an existing Invoice:

  1. At the left tab, select the Sales option.
  2. Go to Invoices.
  3. Look for the Invoice transaction.
  4. Select More option.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. And select Yes.

To learn more about Estimates, you can check this article: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1145302-estimates-setup-function-and-common-questions

I can see how this feature would be helpful for you, I’d recommend sending feedback directly to our product developers for future updates.

Here’s how:

  1. Click the Gear Icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Click Next, and choose Feedback under Category option.
  4. Select Save.
