QB Issue Resolution:

In QB, you may get the list of your chart of accounts, items, customers, vendors, employees and other list from an existing company file and use it in a new company file.

This is possible by the use of export and import process.

Go to File menu> Utilities> Export/Import> Lists to IIF Files

Furthermore, as long as QB 2012 is working for you, you can still use it for your existing company file or even for a new one. Just keep in mind that the use of Online Services such as Online Banking, payroll, QB email and merchant services will be discontinued this coming May 31, 2015.
