QB Issue Resolution:

You are lucky the program even installed. That program will not run there consistently, if at all, and potentially will corrupt your data.

You could have stayed on XP, service pack 3, and done as much updating as possible to IE, or installed and run Chrome, instead.

But XP has reached End of Life this April. QB 2008 reached End Of Life in May 2011.

You now have W8, so you should get QB 2013 or newer.
