QB Issue Resolution:
In the Customer Centre: Create a single Customer for each firm and then a Job for each lawyer at you work with at a firm. You can then create sub-jobs for each project you work on underneath a given lawyer.
Your listing in the customer centre will look like:
Bugle & Co – the firm
JJ Jamieson – the lawyer your working with
Peter Parker (aka Spiderman) – the project you ‘re working on for the lawyer
This way you can also track revenues and expenses for each project you work on for a given lawyer in a given firm, and should the tax man ever come calling to audit a clear trail of the charges to a given lawyer, and your revenues and expenses.
