QB Issue Resolution:

“After copying the Quickbooks folder from G: ┬áto a new E: partition the program will not open.”

“saving the QBW file in a Google Drive folder on the E: partition. Apparently QB doesn’t like Google Drive.”

Everything you are using is managing a Relational Database. There are associated Utility files that go along with the .qbw. Moving just the .qbw or trying to manage only the .qbw is often a problem, because the relationships to the utility files just got broken. This is not unusual, and is often the reason people get -6XXX error when trying to access their data file after “housekeeping.”

Further, DropBox, One Drive, Google Drive, etc, cannot be used for storing and managing the QB data Working files (qbW = Working). That is because these are Static storage locations and cannot manage the relational aspects between the qbw and those utility files (.tlg, .nd, .dns, .adr, etc).

You can direct that your Backup should be made in the sync’d folder to the cloud, for safekeeping. But, don’t try to work from there.
