QB Issue Resolution:

If you put personal funds into your business and you are a sole proprietor, that is called Owner Equity. Create a checking type Cash account by going to Ctrl A > Ctrl N. set up the checking account and call it “Cash” or “Petty Cash.”

go to Banking > Make Deposit and enter the amount of your purchases. use Owner Equity as the account. now write a check for your office supplies. you can leave the payee blank or enter the name of the store you purchased them from.

next write a check for the equipment to that vendor. (a vendor is anyone you purchase things from.) use Fixed Asset as the account. your cash account should now have a 0 balance.
