How to remove an app integration in QuickBooks Online

Most QuickBooks Online app connections can be removed from the Apps screen. When an app does not appear there, use the connected app controls in your Intuit account instead.

Remove the app from QuickBooks Online

Start in QuickBooks Online because this is the quickest path for most connected apps.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online and open the correct company file.
  2. Select Apps in the left menu, then open My Apps. The menu name can differ slightly by version.
  3. Find the app you want to remove.
  4. Select Disconnect or Remove, then confirm the action.

If the app is present and the confirmation completes, the connection is closed. No further step is needed.

Use your Intuit account

Some app connections do not appear under My Apps. In that case, sign in to the Intuit account you use for QuickBooks Online. Look for a section covering Security, Sign in, Connected apps, or Apps and connections. The exact label varies by account and may appear under account settings, billing, or subscription.

Find the app in that list and select Remove, Revoke, or Disconnect. Confirm when Intuit asks. This drops the app’s access even when the standard Apps menu does not show it.

What removal actually does

Removing an integration severs the link between the app and your QuickBooks Online data. The app can no longer pull new transactions, customers, or reports through that connection.

It does not delete data that was already sent to the app. If the third-party app has its own stored copy, you may need to delete that data inside the app itself.

Does removing the app cancel billing?

Removing the connection inside QuickBooks Online does not automatically cancel a subscription you hold with the app developer. Cancel that separately with the app provider if you no longer need the service.

Why the app may be missing

An app may be absent from My Apps because it was authorized through the Intuit account rather than inside QuickBooks Online. It may also have been installed by another user on the account.

If you are not an admin, ask the account owner or a company administrator to sign in and manage the connection.

What if there is no Remove option?

If neither QuickBooks Online nor the Intuit account shows a remove control, check the third-party app. Some apps maintain their own QuickBooks Online connection and only expose the disconnect control from their account or settings area.

Disconnect from there, then return to QuickBooks Online to confirm the link is gone.

When to contact Intuit

If the connection still appears afterward, contact Intuit support. We are an independent help site and cannot access your QuickBooks Online account or remove an app connection for you. Only Intuit can release a link that persists after the normal removal steps.
