How do I cancel my QuickBooks Online subscription?

To cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription, you must sign in using a web browser (cancellation is not available via the mobile app) and have Master Admin or Company Administrator access.

We recommend printing or saving any necessary reports (such as profit and loss, balance sheet, or transaction lists) before you cancel, as you will lose access to your data once the subscription is cancelled.

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
    • If you have multiple companies, ensure you select the specific company you wish to cancel on the “Company Selection” screen.
    • If you suspect duplicate subscriptions exist for the same company, check the Chart of Accounts or a Transaction List in each to identify which subscription holds the data you want to keep. Cancel the subscription that does not contain your active data.
  2. Select the Settings gear icon.
  3. Select Account and settings (or Your Account).
  4. Select the Billing & Subscription tab.
  5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel (or Cancel subscription).
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the cancellation process. You may be asked to provide feedback and confirm your decision.
