How to Download Acrobat Reader

To print sales forms, 1099s, and checks from QuickBooks Online on a Windows computer, you need a PDF viewer installed. We recommend using the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat.

QuickBooks Online is designed to work best with the latest version of Adobe Reader. Using an outdated version may cause issues with formatting or alignment.

Download Adobe Reader for Windows

  1. Go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader download page.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software.
  3. Tip: During installation, look for optional offers (like toolbars or antivirus software) and deselect them if you do not want them.

Adjusting print alignment

Once installed, you may need to adjust your printer settings to ensure your forms and checks align correctly on the page. For detailed steps on setting up and adjusting alignment, please refer to our official documentation on printing checks and forms.

Printing on a Mac

If you are using a Mac, QuickBooks Online uses your computer’s built-in PDF capabilities. You do not need to install Adobe Reader to print forms or checks on macOS.
