How to show which jobs or customers a check payment is for?

To see which customers or jobs are associated with a check payment used for bills, you can use the Check Detail report. This report allows you to view the specific bills paid by a check without needing to open each transaction individually.

To run the report:

  1. Go to Reports in the left navigation menu.
  2. In the search field, enter Check Detail and select it from the list.
  3. Click the Customize button in the upper-right corner.
  4. Under Filter, set the Transaction Type to Check.
  5. Under Rows/Columns, click Change columns and ensure Customer is checked.
  6. Click Run report.

The report will display your check payments. To verify the specific bill paid by a check, locate the transaction in the list and select it to open the detail view. From there, you can review the payment history and linked bills.
