How to use User Uploaded Styles in QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online allows you to import custom invoice designs directly from Microsoft Word (.docx) using the Import Style feature. This converts your existing document layout into a usable form style.

Important limitations:

How to import a style

  1. Go to Settings (the Gear icon) and select Custom Form Styles.
  2. In the upper right corner, select New style and then choose Import.
  3. Follow the on-screen 3-step wizard:
    • Upload: Select your Word (.docx) file from your computer.
    • Map: Match the fields in your document to the corresponding QuickBooks data fields (e.g., Date, Due Date, Line Items).
    • Preview and Save: Review how the data looks in your design and select Save to finish.

Your imported style will now be available in the list of Custom Form Styles and can be selected when creating new invoices.
