Payroll Year End Guide 2014/15

To complete your payroll year end in QuickBooks Online, follow these steps to run your final pay, submit to HMRC, and provide P60s to your employees.

Run your final payroll submission

  1. Run your final payroll for the tax year (Week 52 or Month 12) as you normally would.
  2. When you reach the review step before submitting the Full Payment Submission (FPS), ensure the checkbox for “Is this your final pay period for the current tax year?” is selected.
  3. Submit the FPS to HMRC.

Complete the Year End declaration

After submitting your final FPS, you will be prompted to complete the End of Year declaration. This confirms your figures for the tax year. Ensure you answer all questions accurately and submit the declaration to HMRC.

Once the final submission is complete, you can print P60s for your employees. QuickBooks Online generates these forms, so you do not need to order pre-printed stationery.

  1. Go to Payroll and select Employees.
  2. Select the Payroll tab, then choose P60s.
  3. Select the tax year you are closing.
  4. Choose the employees you want to print P60s for and select Print.

You can print these onto plain paper and hand them to your employees.

Verify your submission status

To confirm your year end data was successfully sent to HMRC:

  1. Select the Settings gear icon.
  2. Select Payroll Settings.
  3. Under the Taxes and forms section, select HMRC submissions.
  4. Review the status of your recent submissions to ensure they were accepted.
