Credit Card Charge for QuickBooks Online Subscriptions
If you see a charge from Intuit on your credit card statement and aren’t sure what it’s for, the description on the statement can help you identify the source.
Common charge descriptors
Look for one of these descriptions on your statement:
- QuickBooks Online
- Intuit QB Online
- Intuit (followed by the service name, such as Payroll or TurboTax)
Why does it look like I was charged twice?
If you see two similar charges on your statement, one of them is likely a pre-authorization hold.
- What it is: We place a temporary hold on your card to verify it is active and has sufficient funds before processing the actual subscription payment.
- When it happens: This usually occurs right before your renewal date.
- How long it lasts: The hold is typically removed by your bank within 5 to 10 business days. It is not a permanent charge.
- Amount differences: A pre-authorization hold may be slightly higher (usually up to $0.50 more) than the final charge.
If the hold does not disappear after 10 business days, or if you do not recognize the charge at all, we recommend contacting your bank to verify the transaction details. For billing disputes or specific inquiries about your account, you can contact our support team directly through your QuickBooks Online account.
