QuickBooks Pro 2016 Assembly Item Error
If you encounter an error when working with an assembly item (often referred to as a Bundle in QuickBooks Online), we recommend the following steps to resolve the issue.
Delete and re-enter the transaction Since QuickBooks Online is a cloud-based service, we do not use “Verify” or “Rebuild” utilities. Instead, start by removing the transaction causing the error and re-entering it:
- Open the transaction (such as a Bill or Expense).
- Select More at the bottom, then Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Select the + New button and recreate the transaction.
Check the Bundle setup If the error persists, there may be an issue with the items grouped in the Bundle (Assembly). Review the components:
- Go to the Settings gear icon and select Products and Services.
- Find the Bundle in the list and select Edit.
- Ensure all items included in the Bundle are active and have valid accounts assigned.
- If any item looks incorrect, edit the individual item type or remove it from the Bundle.
Run the Rebuild Tool (Advanced) If the issue continues, use the internal Rebuild tool to refresh the data:
- Go to the Settings gear icon and select Reconcile (or use the search bar to find “Rebuild”).
- If you are on the Reconcile page, select the Settings gear icon again (usually top right) and select Rebuild.
- Follow the prompts to run the tool. Once complete, try entering the transaction again.
