Setting Up and Accepting Payments With GoPayment

QuickBooks GoPayment allows you to accept credit card payments on your mobile device. The app syncs with QuickBooks Online, so your payment data is automatically recorded.

Getting started

  1. Download the app: Download the QuickBooks GoPayment app from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Sign in: Open the app and sign in using your QuickBooks Online user ID and password.
  3. Order your reader: If you haven’t already, order your free card reader through the app or your QuickBooks Online account to begin swiping cards.

Processing a payment

Once you are signed in and your reader is connected (if using one), follow these steps to take a payment:

  1. Tap the Charge or Plus (+) icon.
  2. Enter the amount you want to charge.
  3. Add details (optional): You can add a memo, customer name, or item details. Note: While you can create items directly in the GoPayment app, your full Products and Services list from QuickBooks Online may not sync down to the mobile device.
  4. Accept payment:
    • Swipe: Dip, tap, or swipe the card using your reader.
    • Key in: Manually enter the card details if necessary.
  5. Tap Charge to process the transaction.
  6. Once approved, you can email or text a receipt to the customer.

Managing settings

Features such as taxes, tips, and customization options may vary slightly depending on your device. You can manage these settings directly within the GoPayment app.

For more detailed instructions on setting up items or customizing your account, refer to the official GoPayment support resources.
