QB Issue Resolution:

  1. Hold down the CRTL key and open QB. This should open your company without any open windows.
  2. If you require a password, release the ALT key, enter the PW, then press the ALT key again and click OK.
  3. Hold the ALT key down until the company finishes opening, hopefully with no windows open.
  4. Run Reboot.BAT

How to run Reboot.bat:

Run reboot.bat to register QuickBooks files in Microsoft Windows:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Open the folder containing the reboot.bat file:
    • Windows 8, 7 or Vista:
      1. Right-click the QuickBooks icon on your desktop and select Properties.
      2. Click Open file location.
    • Window XP:
      1. Right-click the QuickBooks icon on your desktop and select Properties.
      2. Click Find Target.
  3. Right-click on reboot.bat and choose Run as Administrator.  Note: This step is important, you need to run reboot.bat as Admin.
  4. A Command (DOS) window will open with rapidly scrolling file names. Do not manually close this window. When the reboot.bat file utility has completed, the window will close.
  5. Check to see if this resolves the issue.  If not, reboot your computer.
