QB Issue Resolution:

Are you going to create paychecks for some of the Employees on the payroll schedule now, and then create paychecks for the rest of them later? For the same pay period?

If so you will need to select the Employees you want to pay now and create paychecks for them. However, when you reach the “Confirmation and Next Steps” screen, be sure you check the box marked “Do not advance the dates of this payroll schedule in the Payroll Center”. That way the pay period dates stay the same, so you can run this schedule a second time and select the other Employees you want to pay. When you finish that, you will want the “Do not advance” box to be unchecked, so the dates will roll forward.
When you go to pay the second group of Employees, should you inadvertently select an Employee that you already paid in the first batch, you should receive a warning message telling you that you have already created a paycheck for that Employee for the indicated pay period.
