2016 QB: I have 2011 QB for Mac – can I upgrade my data to 2016 QB for Mac?

Yes, assuming you also have a supported OS. After installing the new QB use file>open company or the browse option from the no company open window and navigate to your company file. QB will update your company file and leave a copy available for your older version.

2016 QB: I did the new 2016 QB update and now it has automatically added the change every 90 days password requirement. How do I disable? No sensitive data on the QB file

Unfortunately there is no way to bypass this.  Go to feedback under help menu & let them know you don’t like this update.  Many many people are not happy about this.  Myself included.
