again: I upgraded from QB 2015 for Mac to QB 2016 for Mac. I cannot open my file. I double click the file to open it and QB backs it up AGAIN but does not open the file.

QB Mac does this type of backup if a company file is already open. Try file>close company/log off and select your file from the no company open window.

click customize, set the columns choice to days

run the report

memorize it so you can use it again and just change the date range
