AR account: Made a JE to clear invoices from AR, the invoices show as paid. Now Aging Summary shows the credit but the AR on the BS does not. The JE isn’t on the AR account either.

I didn’t read the entire post before responding. What you should do is:

Delete the JE (it is the wrong transaction)

You only have one for using QB Online, and you typically only need one. You can run reports to sort whatever it is you are trying to see separately.

AR account: How do I issue and record a simple refund to a customer? There are no Credit Memos involved; just overpaid accounts that want a check refunded to them.

Start on the check form and enter the customer name as the payee.

In the detail section of the check, use your AR account and enter the customer name again.

After you record the check, then use Receive Payments to apply the over-payment credit to the check.

You can’t. Instead, edit the transactions that are in the wrong AR account and change the AR account.
