Balance back: My bank register stopped showing me the running balance. I can’t figure out how to fix it. It just says n/a beside all transactions.

You’re probably sorting on something OTHER than the “Date” column.  QuickBooks will only give a running balance if sorting the register by date. (picture below)

Click the word “Date” at top of your register to resort the register and you should get your running balance back.

Balance back: If I open a new bank account and it says”only displayed with date/reconcile status sort” in the balance box, how do I solve this problem?

Click DATE column once or twice (depending upon you want recent transaction on top or bottom) and then you will see running balance back. When you sort any other columns or search (other than date), you will loose running balance and ending up with n/a.

Balance back: My Bank Registers have “n/a” in balance columns. I’ve tried the fix suggested but it did not work.

If you want to see Running Balance back again, click “Date” column once or twice. When you sort transactions in the bank register, you will  lose running balance. It will end up displaying “n/a” balance. There is no total at the bottom either. That’s their new bank register.
