There is no rep function in QBO

you have to turn on and use classes or locations

class – tracks each line item
location – track the transaction total

gear>settings>company settings
company>categories and turn on classes/locations

Yes, intuit has decided sub items will go away, no one knows when, might as well bite the bullet and do it now rather than be surprised

categories: When I try to edit an item in “Products and services” there is no box to check to make something a subcategory. And the box in the manage category part won’t check.

Have you set up any Categories?

New feature but I think you have to create a category before you can do that.
