To make it work, when service item account is changed, it is necessary to select “Also update this account in historical transactions” checkbox, for which you might need to scroll down due to strange QBO UX design.

checkbox: My company billable settings are correct (Qickbooks Online Plus) , but billable checkbox and client selection are not showing anymore. How do I fix it?

try logging out, clear the cache, and log in see if that helps

IE is notorious for having problems with QBO, I use FF with no problems, others use chrome also with no problems
