cleared transactions: Why is my beginning balance showing $0 when I reconcile? I went back to the chart of accounts and entered an opening balance but it is not updating. What do I try?

The Beginning Balance = the Net of all previously Cleared Transactions.

It doesn’t mean No Money. Your first Deposit will not yet be Cleared, and the first reconciliation starts at $0, because it is the First Reconciliation.

Ignore it and continue to the Ending Balance.

cleared transactions: Clean up a duplicate transaction after reconciliation (one side of each transaction reconciled)

Open the Register view for checking or cc. Uncheckmark the wrong one.

Now, Reconcile to the same statement and ending balance as last time and ignore the beginning balance. That balance is the net of all Cleared transactions, which you just affected.

cleared transactions: bank feeds download cleared transactions

It is up to the bank to decide what to download. So, not sure why your bank would include transactions you have already downloaded.
