Sales reports: Can I run reports using Product Categories? I don’t see it as an option in sales reports. Am I missing something?

Sales reports: A Report that shows how much I bill out every month(w/ tax)

Run your Sales Reports. For Desktop, for example: Sales by Customer Summary, columns by Item type. Then, Filter on Item type and Remove that filter, so that Sales Tax is a column, too.

Sales reports: Invoices have customer deposit as neg amount so sales reports are incorrect as it shorts sales by down payment

“Then on the invoice they are recorded as Charge:Down Payment Received—- Type Other charge.”

It helps to avoid negatives on the invoice; put that as Positive on a Credit Memo and let it apply to the invoice. That way, both transactions stand separate.
