Tax: How should I go about putting myself on a regular payroll using Intuit for my Payroll service when I am setup as the Sole member in an LLC-S? The way i have Intuit setup it does not like me adding myself as an employee since there is a reference to my name in other parts of the program.

LLC with election to be taxed as S?

Add your name as employee with a period at the end to distinguish from as a customer or vendor.

BTW, if you did not elect S corp taxation paying yourself on payroll is disallowed by the irs.

Tax: I am a sole trader working from home. How do I set up Quickbooks to streamline everything at tax time?

I always suggest you structure your chart of accounts to match the tax form you file.  Use sub accounts to track detail if you need that. ie

utilities expense
>> elect
>> gas
>> internet
