QB Issue Resolution:
When you click one of the reports below in QuickBooks Premier or QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, you may see these unexpected results:
QuickBooks displays a “Building Report” window, but the window disappears without the report’s displaying
QuickBooks displays the message, “The report you requested is too large and cannot be displayed”
The Qbwin.log file contains several occurrences of the messages:
LVL_ERROR–Failure resizing standard block from mmmm bytes to nnnn bytes.
LVL_ERROR–Compatibility mode is 0

How to fix it
You may be able to resolve this error in QuickBooks 2009 and newer by updating to the latest release. Improvements related to this error have been made in the latest release for QuickBooks 2009 and newer.
QuickBooks 2014/Enterprise Solutions 14.0:
QuickBooks 2014 and Enterprise Solutions 14.0 has the ability to use a larger amount of available memory on computers running a 64 bit version of Windows with 64 bit processors.
To enable this:
Close QuickBooks.
Go to your QuickBooks program folder. By default, this is C:Program Files(x86)IntuitQuickBooks 2014 or C:Program Files(x86)IntuitEnterprise Solutions 14.0
Find the files QBW32_4GB and QBW32.exe.
Rename the QBW32.exe file to QBW32_old.
Rename the QBW32_4GB file to QBW32.exe.
Open QuickBooks and try running the report that was causing problems.
If you continue to see this error after, or if you are using QuickBooks 2008; the following workarounds may help:
Merge items in the Customer, Vendor and/or Items lists
Run the Clean Up Company Data utility
Start a new company data file
Configure the ODBC driver with your QuickBooks
You will need to download the ODBC driver to your computer
You will need to set up the connection as QuickBooks Administrator
You may need to manipulate pivot tables and data in Microsoft Excel

If you continue to receive the message, you may want to turn on the Prompt me to modify report options before opening a report in the Reports & Graphs preferences.
Go to Edit > Preferences.
Select Reports & Graphs and click My Preferences tab.
Select the Prompt me to modify report options before opening a report checkbox.
Click OK to save preferences.
The next time you run a report, you will have a Modify Report: window open. Filter the report for what you want and click OK.
