Account Information
Managing your QuickBooks Online account and billing information
We take the security of your account and financial data seriously. Because of this, certain tasks—such as updating sensitive credentials, resolving billing disputes, or accessing specific license details—require us to verify your identity privately.
Below is a guide on how to handle common account management requests in QuickBooks Online.
Updating your sign-in information
If you need to change your User ID, email, or password, you must have access to the email address currently associated with your account. This is where we send the secure reset link.
-
If you have access to your email: You can update your security settings directly through the Intuit Account sign-in page.
-
If you do not have access to your email: We currently do not have a self-service option to edit your account information without access to the email on file. For security reasons, you cannot bypass this step publicly. ## Changing bank accounts for payroll or payments If you change the bank account used for Payroll Direct Deposit or other payment services, your status will change to Waiting for approval.
-
Verification process: To ensure security, we verify the principal officer and the new bank account information. We do this by making a small test transaction (micro-deposits) to your new bank account.
-
Next steps: Once you see the test deposit in your bank statement, return to QuickBooks Online to confirm the specific amounts. This verification must be completed before you can send payments using the new bank account.
Unsubscribing from payment services
If you wish to cancel or unsubscribe from QuickBooks Payments (Merchant Services), you must speak with the Merchant Services Department. They have access to the tools required to process cancellations and discuss any potential terms or finalities. Standard product support channels may not be able to process payment service cancellations directly.
Resolving billing errors and transaction disputes
If you notice discrepancies in your fees, deposits, or billing history (such as a deposit recorded incorrectly as a fee), we need to review your specific transaction history.
- Why we can’t do this in public: To protect your financial privacy, we cannot investigate specific transaction details or account configurations in public forums or help articles.
- How to fix it: An agent needs to access your account securely to review the ledger and correct the error. Please contact our specialized support teams for Merchant Services or Billing to have the transaction reviewed.
Troubleshooting banking errors (e.g., Error Code 3100)
If you encounter persistent banking errors (such as Error Code 3100) after transitioning banks or updating your information, the issue may be related to the specific configuration of your Online Bill Pay or bank feeds.
- Resolution: Since these errors often require a behind-the-scenes look at your connection and account status, you must contact our Online Bill Pay support team. They can check the program configuration and clear the error safely.
Checking on support tickets or license numbers
If you have an open support case that was closed prematurely, or if you need to locate your license or product numbers, we must verify your credentials to proceed.
- Re-opening tickets: We cannot verify personal information or re-open cases in public spaces. A specialist will need to pull up your ticket history using your private details to determine why the case was closed and how to resolve the issue.
- Finding licenses: If you know your account information, you can often find your license numbers by logging into the CAMPS (Customer Account Management Portal).
