Resolve sign-in issues for QuickBooks Online
If you’re having trouble accessing your account, it’s usually due to browser settings, a temporary service issue, or security updates. Follow these steps to get back into QuickBooks Online.
Troubleshoot browser and connection issues
If you can’t reach the sign-in page or see errors like “Webpage cannot be found,” “QBO is currently unavailable,” or “Session Cookies Disabled,” try these steps in order.
1. Try a different sign-in link Sometimes the issue is specific to a saved bookmark. Attempt to sign in using one of these direct addresses:
https://qbo.intuit.comhttps://quickbooksonline.intuit.com(Click Sign In at the top right)
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies Old data in your browser can prevent the page from loading correctly. Clear your cache (temporary internet files) and cookies.
- Note: If you are specifically seeing a “Session Cookies Disabled” error in Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. Click Advanced, select Override automatic cookie handling, and ensure Always allow session cookies is checked.
3. Check your SSL settings If the page still won’t load, ensure your browser allows secure connections.
- Internet Explorer: Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll to the Security section and verify that Use SSL 3.0 and Use TLS 1.0 (or higher) are checked.
- Firefox: Go to Options > Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Certificates section and verify settings.
Resolve specific app and integration errors
If you can sign in to QuickBooks Online but receive errors when using connected services, check the status of these specific integrations.

- This is a known issue affecting a small number of users attempting to export payroll data. Our engineers are investigating the root cause.
- Error: “HTTP Status 500 exception” on
www.paycheckrecords.com/login/iamlogin.jsp- This is a known issue affecting sign-in to the paycheck records portal. Our engineering team is currently evaluating the behavior.
Square Integration
- Error: “Oops! Something went wrong. Please sign out and sign in to QuickBooks and try again.”
- This is a known issue impacting the connection between Square and QuickBooks Online. We are actively working on a fix.
- Workaround: In the meantime, you can manually download your transactions from Square and upload them to QuickBooks Online as you would with any other bank statement.
GoPayment App
- Issue: You can’t sign in to the GoPayment app.
- Ensure you are using the same User ID and password you use for QuickBooks Online.
- Check your approval status: Look for an approval email. If it has been more than 2–3 business days without approval, call Payment Services at 800.558.9558.
- If you have multiple merchant accounts, ensure you are selecting the correct one associated with your current credentials.
Understand security sign-in requirements
You may occasionally be asked to sign in again or provide a confirmation code when changing account information (like your email, password, or User ID).
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Intuit implements Multi-Factor Authentication to protect your financial data. Because passwords alone are no longer sufficient to guarantee security, we require an additional verification step (a one-time confirmation code) when sensitive changes are made to your account. This ensures that only you can access or modify your sign-in information.
