QuickBooks Online has the ability to assign a class, such as a department, to an employee. Here’s how:
- Select the Gear icon.
- Click Payroll Settings.
- Select Accounting under Preferences.
- Scroll down to the Classes section and select I use different classes for different employees.
- Select Ok.
- Choose classes for the employees by selecting the blue drop-down arrow.
- Click Ok.
