If you are using Windows 7 and your Location window shows a Windows XP file path, you will need to reset the file path:
Click File > Close Company.
At the No Company Open window, click File > Open or Restore Company…
Select Open a Company File then click Next.
Navigate to the location of your company file using the Windows Explorer window.
Highlight your company file and click Open.
Completing this process will no longer require a second scan to successfully attach documents to your transactions.
